The Big Dipper asterism, also called the Plough or the Saptarishi, is so easy to recognize that it is almost universally known in all Northern Hemisphere culture. Even young children recognize it and can find it in the night sky. It is often the first object that young budding amateur astronomers learn to point out. The necklace was made by Boutique Academia.

This steel pendant with a diameter of about 2.5cm shows the stars of the Big Dipper and some neighboring stars. Since the pendant is made of steel, it will not tarnish and is both beautiful and sturdy. The back of the pendant is blank and can be engraved by professional engravers. The pendant hangs on a sterling silver chain about 45cm long.
